Nasal Polyps

Description: Nasal polyps are soft, painless growths that develop on the lining of the nasal passages or sinuses. These growths result from chronic inflammation and can vary in size, from small to large, and may appear alone or in clusters. Although generally benign, their presence can cause nasal obstruction, difficulty breathing, loss of smell, and other symptoms related to congestion. Nasal polyps are more common in individuals with conditions such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, or chronic sinusitis. Diagnosis is made through a physical examination and, in some cases, nasal endoscopy. Treatment may include anti-inflammatory medications, corticosteroids, or, in more severe cases, surgery for removal. Proper identification and management of nasal polyps are crucial for improving patients’ quality of life, as they can significantly affect breathing and overall well-being.
